We spend a lot of time looking for the perfect partner.
The best photographer.
The best designer.
The best writer.
The best strategist.
But here’s what happens when you put four ”bests” in a room for the first time:
They don’t share a vocabulary. They don’t know each other’s blind spots. The photographer lights for one vision, the designer crops for another. Every handoff loses something.
Individually brilliant. Collectively average.
Meanwhile, a team that has worked together for years does something quieter. They finish each other’s briefs. They catch problems before they become revisions. They know what ”good” means — because they’ve defined it together, project after project.
So maybe ”who is the best?” is the wrong question.
Maybe the right one is: who has learned how to work together?
Because the best team isn’t made up of the best individuals.
It’s the one where the work between people is as good as the work from them.
